The Four Seasons in Central Park
Central Park is special for many reasons. One of them is that there are four distinct seasons, with four chances to photograph changing foliage, birds and other wildlife. The scenery is gorgeous, and very photogenic.
Winter
To start off this page, I offer a shot from the Blizzard of Jan. 23, 2016. This shot was taken at Oak Bridge in the beginning of the blizzard.
A snow storm on Jan. 7, 2017, led to the new video Snow Day!
Some photos from the Let It Snow! blog posting:

Summer
Summer in Central Park is usually spent chasing Pale Male’s new offspring around the park. 2018 was no different, and you can see the kids on the Pale Male main page and video archive. But Pale Male didn’t have kids in 2019 (even though Octavia sat on the nest and we had hope). So I have been taking more flower shots in Central Park, and have posted more on the Flowers and Foliage page.
Autumn
Even though this video contains flowers and leaves from Prospect Park, Memorial Park and Battery Park, most of the images are from Central Park, so we include it here!
The New York City Marathon in November provides a weekend’s worth of events, including fireworks on the opening ceremony on Friday. In 2018, I filmed the fireworks from a spot just east of Sheep Meadow, and here’s the video. We have also had amazing “fireworks” from the trees, as well!
